Trump Speaks in Milwaukee After Surviving Gun Shot

By: Henry Chen

Former President Donald Trump is seen again at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on July 18, thanking the many people who have helped him after a would-be assassin’s bullet injured him, providing a lengthy speech, and getting selected to represent the Republican Party.

Donald Trump has come to the Convention after avoiding any significant wounds. While Trump was at a rally, a would-be assassin shot him in the ear, and Secret Service Officers escorted him away. Secret Service Officers responded fire and killed the would-be assassin. At the Republican Convention, thousands of people cheered for and will most likely vote in this year’s election for Donald Trump. In a video from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), journalist Nomia Iqbal states, “Mr. Trump was speaking in front of supporters at the Republican Convention in Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin…This Convention has nominated Donald Trump as their presidential candidate. So in November, Americans will go to the polls and vote for who they want as president,” indicating that Donald Trump is fine and will continue to pursue the occupation of President.

Meanwhile, the other presidential candidate and current President, Joe Biden, is under loads of pressure from other members of his party because of his poor performance in a debate, his age, and his health condition. “The President, who is eighty-one, has paused his own political events this week after catching COVID. He says he feels fine, but questions about his age and health have dominated the campaign. As after he appeared to struggle with his words during a debate with Donald Trump last month… some in his own Democrat Party say he should step aside,” the BBC stated. On Sunday, July 21, Joe Biden announced that he will not seek re-election for the 2024 to 2028 term.

Trump is “fine” and speaks once again in front of a mass of supporters as he has been chosen to represent the Republicans in this year’s election. The 2024 Election is a hectic one as one of the main candidates drops out late into the campaign, and violence is instigated, leaving voters with an issue of deciding which party to vote for, one with less preparation or one with fewer supporters.
