Warrior Cats: Fire and Ice Book Review

By: Summer Lin

The Fire and Ice Warriors Book is also a good book, because it is fun, dramatic, and is also a good read.

This story begins with Firepaw, now Fiaeheart, sitting with Graystripe in his warrior’s vigil (newly named warriors must sit the whole night without talking). After dawn came and his vigil was over, Fireheart left to talk to his leader, Bluestar, about an apprentice named Ravenpaw. Ravenpaw was sent to a farm to save him from Tigerclaw, the antagonist and current deputy. Fireheart told Bluestar, the clan leader, the truth, and Bluestar decided to keep this secret from the clan and to preserve Tigerclaw’s pride, making the evil warrior believe that his apprentice had died in battle rather than ruining his pride by telling him that his apprentice had run away. Bluestar also refused to believe that Tigerclaw had killed Redtail, the deputy, before Fireheart had joined the clan.

Fast forwarding through training and patrols, the protagonist and his friend, have been sent on a quest to save the missing clan, Windclan, and succeed. They went on a long and treacherous journey, and during this same journey, Fireheart, Graystripe, and Windclan got into a skirmish with Riverclan, who wouldn’t let Windclan pass into their territory. Despite all this, Fireheart and Graystripe returned Windclan safely to their territory, making Windclan forever grateful to Thunderclan and increasing Fireheart’s reputation in his own clan.

This story is very dramatic and very descriptive; it very clearly paints Fireheart as the hero of the story and Tigerheart as the villain plotting something. Bluestar trusts Tigerstar so much that she refuses to believe Fireheart’s words even though she is the hero’s mentor, proving that Tigerstar had Bluestar wrapped around his claws and was about to break her trust. This story is, like all of the other books in this series, a five-star read! Any of the books is an awesome choice. Its drama encourages the reader to keep reading, absorbing you into the book and making you feel like you can’t put the book down, its description makes you feel like you are in the environment and can see the character talking, and I most definitely recommend this book if you are looking for something entertaining and fun to read.
