I was running around in the grass, when I saw a large metal box. A bright red light flashed on it, brighter than the sun. I walked towards this crazy discovery, then cautiously circled the box. I sat on the soft pine green grass and reached towards the thing. Picking it up was surprisingly easy but getting it open was like trying to get a stubborn rhino to move out of your territory.
Soon, I gave up, but only temporarily. “What in this is box is so valuable? Maybe it’s money? I could really use the extra money to get myself out of that shabby apartment.” I carried it to my car and drove it back home. “Why is everything so quiet here?” I thought, pushing the door open.
“Hello? Mom, are you home?” I called out, slowly closing the door. I walked to my room, locking the door, and set down the giant box. Now, the red light was flashing faster, and faster, making my head spin. I tried banging it open, but nothing worked. I turned the box around and noticed something on the bottom. A neatly written note was stuck to the bottom. It said:
You have found this box! That means you have the eyes to see! “What is that supposed to mean? Eyes to see what? Wait, that means it definitely isn’t money.” Suddenly, the red light stopped flashing, giving me a good look at it. It was built like a ruby, with carved edges so straight only the sharpest knife could have done it. I looked at it closely and realized it was a button. I clicked it and… and… the box flew open, blinding my eyes with a supernova like light.
When the light faded, all I saw was a note written with the same handwriting, that said:
You will now be able to see the future.
