What Will You Do After the Satellite Broke into More Than 100 pieces.

Astronauts on the International Space Station had to find shelter after an old Russian Satellite broke into pieces. There were many pieces of debris floating around space about 200 miles above earth’s surface.
The tragic event took place on Wednesday afternoon in the UK.

It meant the astronauts had to hide for about one hour! NASA said they will be able to leave the spacecraft and start with their normal work shortly after the incident.

NASA tried to locate all the trash in space from the satellite. NASA said there was no immediate threat to the satellite’s orbit.

1 day later, at least 180 pieces from the satellite were been discovered.

The pieces were extremely close to Earth’s atmosphere and if not contained properly, it could harm our beautiful planet. The pieces could also harm other satellites like the Starlink network and the Tiangong space station.

Events like this are very rare and satellites in space are decreasing every second. People on Earth all rely on satellites.

Many of the satellites in space are very important, when it comes to doing activities like using the internet and navigation.

However, there are lots of things that aren’t getting used. These things are called “space junk.” There are about 25,000 pieces of space junk that can harm the planet’s atmosphere, or crash into other satellites that could cause some serious damage.
