In the middle of the year 2024 when a teenager named Jessin was fossil hunting with his brother Liam and his cousin Kaiden, they found something incredible in the Hell Creek Formation in North Dakota.
The area was rich in dinosaur bones, so the chances are high that the trio found a few bones. But little did they know, they were about to find a bunch of Juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex bones.
They saw a long gray bone sticking out of the ground. Liam and his father called the others to dig the bone out. Their dad sent a photo to the paleontologist at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The expert said the bone looked like a duck-billed dinosaur, a more common species.
After further digging, they found three more teeth, and then the lower jaw was found shortly after. The bones were put in a 6000-pound container full of sandstone.
The fossils were brought back to the lab to be researched. Researchers said that the T-rex was about 10 feet tall and 3500 pounds. It was also 13 or 15 years old when it died 67 million years ago.
