Glastonbury Festival is one of the biggest festivals in the world. And this year it will be held at Worthy Farm, in southwest England from June 26–30. 200,000 fortunate people will attend the festival, but everyone else will have to broadcast the big Glastonbury performances on BBC iPlayer.
This year’s festival will also include charity temporary tattoos designed by musicians.
Every year, Glastonbury has three big headliners who end each day of the festival with a big performance on the main stage. This year, the singers are Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and SZA.
There’s also a slot that goes to a music “legend”, someone who has been in the music industry for a long time and has a lot of respect. This year the slot is given to Shania Twain.
But that’s not all! Many other singers will attend as well such as Olivia Dean, Anne-Marie, and Camilla Cabello. Bands including Jungle, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Two Door Cinema Club will also be attending. Other big names including Little Simz, Cyndi Lauper, LCD Soundsystem, and Arlo Parks will be attending as well.
But there’s not only going to be music at the festival. There’s all sorts of performances and classes to experience at the festival as well. Additionally, there’s also a huge kids section with tons of crafts to do.
This festival is also popular for its pledge to sustainability. People are told not to bring gazebos, because they take a lot of space and often get left behind.
Everyone will also be raising many flags at the festival. On TV or in person, the sight of flags from all over the country is quite breathtaking.
Many people cannot wait for this year’s Glastonbury Festival whether they are going or just watching.
