I am from colorful sounds
Brought to life through silvery woodwinds and endless glossy keys.
I am from auditoriums and stages
where I find pleasure in playing to please.
I am from filled bookshelves
From a bibliophile bookworm life
Countless portals into alien lands
Complete with spellbound spines.
I am from teaspoons of warm brown sugar
Careful dashes of pumpkin spice
A bit of this and a pinch of that
The importance of being precise.
I am from buttery smooth saddles,
Meticulously braided manes
From creatures that taught me to fly
And how to live life in the fast lane.
I am from the sport that starts with “love,”
Under a blistering summer sun
I hold my breath, keep up the pace,
And hope I’ll hit an ace.
I am from the end of the tunnel
Which took so long to light up
Yet I am from dreams I can finally grasp
So please don’t wake me up.
