Why You Should Support NASA’s Hunt for UFOs”

By: Andrew Lou

Do you believe in UFOs? NASA is investigating UFOs sightings; I support their efforts, as it is cheap, quick, and first in their mission of finding life outside Earth.

Investigating UFO sightings is not a costly nor time-consuming process. According to NASA, the fall study will only last about nine months and cost no more than $100,000. This length of time and cost of money is surprisingly small for such a vast project, giving it the advantage of not getting in the way of insignificant events time and money-wise.

NASA’s hunting for UFOs habits into one of the primary missions of NASA, finding life outside of Earth. In the Article “NASA joins the hunt for UFOs,” Christian Davenport reports, “Thomas Zurbuchen, the head of NASA’s science mission directorate … said it was ‘high-risk, high-impact research that the space agency should not shy away from, even if it is a controversial field of study.” NASA’s mission has always been high-risk, high impact because finding life outside of Earth has never been guaranteed.

Zurbuchen also said: “NASA believes that the tools of scientific discovery are powerful and apply here also. We have the tools and team who can help us improve our understanding of the unknown. That’s the very definition of what science is. That’s what we do.” Zurbuchen agrees that the investigation of sightings of UFOs coincides with their primary mission and that they have the tools to execute the research.

People say that the limited number of observations, such as those caught by the US Navy, will make it challenging to draw scientific conclusions about the nature of such events and that there is no evidence that UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) are extraterrestrial. But the Defense Department cataloged more than 140 flying objects that officials could not identify. Officials also say they couldn’t find evidence of the technology being from other countries or nations.

In the end, researching UFOs/UAPs should be done so that we can uncover mysteries of both UFOs and space, advance further in the knowledge of the area, and finally conclude what we should do to protect Earth from accidents such as invasions or crowded airspace that might happen if UFOs are proven to be accurate. Thus, I support NASA’s hunt for UFOs and agree with what they think.
