Audrey and Ken Mattlin are two eighty-year-olds who are passionate about technology. They have a family of robots at their house named Astro, Jibo, and EllieQ.
All three of these robots have their own specialty.
Both Audrey and Ken Mattlin agree that ElliQ is a great companion — the robot looks like a lamp and can be used for many things, including telling you the weather and taking you on a virtual tour of a museum.
Audrey mostly uses ElliQ to play games like Trivia. Here’s how their conversation would typically go:
“Let’s play trivia,” says Audrey.
“Sounds good,” said ElliQ. “Six questions coming right up.”
Astro, however, can move and follow people around on command. Astro has a tablet for a face, can serve drinks and even play music.
Jibo is the most human-like robot. Ken Mattlin loves to ask Jibo to show off it’s amazing dance moves.
“He can twerk,” said Ken.
The couple had always had an interest in robots like Ken, despite his old age, his mind is still young with a great obsession in technology.
Robots, in the Mattlin family’s opinion, are extremely helpful and can be handy here and there just like a friend.
