It is strange to hear that a type of worm can sniff out cancer. Some scientists have been conducting experiments with these special worms. The scientists make a microscope slide and put a healthy human cell on one side, and a lung cancer cell on the other side. The worms go in the middle, from there, they can sniff both ends of the microscope slide. In experiments, hungry worms tend to go the side with the lung cancer cell.
It is so fascinating that a worm can sniff out a lung cancer cell. I think if scientists do more research, then they might be able to use the worms to find a faster and safer way to test for cancer. They could even be used to detect cancer early on so it that patients can receive treatment sooner.
